Nexus 6P: Live with the King. The King of Android is now here, the latest flagship of Huawei and an addition to Google Nexus lineup. Perfect android smartphone for everyone. Check my blog for more details and my top 5 favorite features of Huawei Nexus 6P.

When it comes to considering an “almost perfect” smartphone, we always end up scratching our heads that leave our carts empty. May it be because of the price, the specs or the quality of the product.

It’s true that there is no such thing as the “perfect smartphone.” However, there is a so-called “THE KING.”

Let me introduce to you Huawei’s flagship and an addition to the Google Nexus killer lineup—the Nexus 6P. It is the successor of the previous model, the Nexus 6. This “premium” phone was first released in the 29th of September 2015 and is loved by many smartphone enthusiasts. It is the first time that a Nexus phone was manufactured by a Chinese manufacturer and the Android and Nexus fans love it even more.

It is hard to hate the Nexus 6P and there are only very few reasons to not to get it. With its jaw-dropping features and high-end specs, it’s hard not to pick this elegant piece of technology on which, quoted by The Verge, “…the best Android phone.”

Here are my top 5 favorite outstanding features of The King—Huawei Nexus 6p.

Hardware Design

The build of the smartphone is one of the most important aspect of a device and is also one of the hardest to achieve when it comes to portability and accessibility. Nexus 6P stands out on this aspect for it has premium build with an all-metal and aluminum design which gives you that “first-class” feel in a device. Its 5.7-inch display is crafted with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which means it is more robust which is perfect for people who easily break the screen of their phones. The flat sides, and diamond chamfered edges add up to its exceptional build quality and ease of grip.

The material choices on this phone are top-notch which made it more durable and its beauty is hard not to notice.

The Nexus 6P comes with 4 different colors—Graphite (Black), Aluminum (Silver), Frost (White), and the newly-released in CES 2016, the Matte Gold Nexus 6P, on which are all appealing and hard to choose from.

Faster Performance

Our phones nowadays aren’t only used for texting, answering calls, or checking emails; they are also used as gaming consoles or even a portable version of our own desktop computers.

The Nexus 6P is no exception when it comes to providing the users high-end specs for heavy usage. It contains Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 chip and Adreno 430 GPU processor which is ideal if you’re a hardcore smartphone gamer and runs apps with stunning graphics and intuitive controls without lags and hiccups. It also has 3GB of ram which is great in multitasking or switching between apps and everything is responsive and snappy.

The internal storage is not a problem in this device for it gives you the option to choose a 32GB on-board which is the base model, a 64GB which I think is enough if you’re into storing huge amount of files, and a 128GB storage if you think 64GB is insufficient for your usage.

It runs the latest version of Android which is Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and can be updated in the future which is a big thumbs up if you don’t want your device to be left out.

Powerful Camera

Most of us now use our smartphone’s camera when taking photos of our life’s wonderful moments, may it be something that you want to share on your social media or something that you want to keep. The Nexus 6P’s camera is one of the top-notch cameras in the smartphone market at present. It has 12mp sony sensor which gives that better and sharper photos; f2.0 aperture which lets more light to enter the lens resulting to brighter photos and performs best in low-light situations; and has 1.55 µm which means it has bigger pixels and exhibits more details in the photos. Another thing to remember is that the ability of the camera to produce large pixel size is originally made to function for point-and-shoot cameras. Hence, you're having the same quality of photos in this device's camera and the pictures you take from the point-and-shoot cameras.

The specs of the camera isn't the only thing people should take note of. People should also give attention on the easiest and fastest way to launch the camera and its interface. Launching the camera in the Nexus 6P is as fast as a blink of an eye. Just by double-tapping the power button--boom--you have launched the camera app without even unlocking your phone and search for the camera icon in the menu. It's a great help actually especially when you want to capture an instant moment.

Here's the real deal: the wide angle lens and the saturation of the colors that the camera produces in the photos. Who doesn't want a wide angle lens? It's very important to have that feature in a camera especially when taking group photos, and landscapes. Of course, we want to capture every detail and every subject in one photo. On the other hand, the color or saturation of the photos. Let's be real, some of the smartphone cameras in the market today tend to produce over-saturated photos which becomes too unnatural. In Nexus 6P's camera, the photos are sharp, and not overly saturated but kept the colors naturally. Nevertheless, the colors you see in the photos are close to what our naked eyes see.

If you love videography, then this device's camera still fits in your niche. Instead of buying super expensive cameras, the Nexus 6P's camera shoots 4K which is suitable if you want to produce super crispy videos. Despite of the absence of an optical image stabilization, it is not quite a big downside for it still takes quality and smooth videos.

The "Nexus Imprint Sensor"

You probably notice the shiny circle at the back of the Nexus 6P. Well, that's the fingerprint sensor/fingerprint scanner or Touch ID in the iPhone. This, I think, is one the must-have feature of every smartphone. And the 6P has that feature.

The Nexus Imprint Sensor was first seen in the Nexus 5X which was released in October 2015 and is still present in the 6P.

As you can see, the placement of the sensor isn't quite the same compared to other smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 6s where the fingerprint sensors are placed in the home button. After all, the placement of this ergonomic fingerprint ID (which is in the back of the device) is not a disadvantage at all. It is where your index finger rests while using the phone thus unlocking the phone won't be a bummer.

Other benefits of the Nexus Imprint sensor are:
Android Pay - you can buy stuff  with just a tap without bringing out your [credit/debit] cards
Security - used in unlocking your phone so not everyone can easily access your phone because it needs your fingerprint to unlock the phone and make it accessible

A few apps also support imprint sensor and it is definitely useful especially when you keep a lot of private files on your phone.

Excellent Battery Capabilities

If you're a heavy smartphone user then you should have said even once to yourself "I wish I had 200% battery," or you rant about how slow your phone charges (sometimes it takes 2 hours or more). Well, the Nexus 6P is a heaven-sent to cure your discontent.

Even though a 200% battery does not exist, the Nexus 6P contains 3450 mAh battery! It's large enough for hours of video streaming, gaming, web browsing, and playing music.

Not only it has large battery capacity, it also supports Fast Charging which is a hundred percent useful especially when you're on a rush and you have low battery. Charge it for only a few minutes and it lasts for hours.

Another important factor which gives the Nexus 6P the fast charging capability is the support of the USB-C. Yes, this is different from the usual Micro-USB which most smartphones nowadays use, but better. In what way? USB-C is suited for transferring data files faster. For instance, you transfer large files from your computer to your smartphone (or vice versa), expect rapid data transfers compared to the micro USB. Moreover, it handles in distributing power safety in comparison to the micro USB.

Aside from that, there's a battery feature of the Nexus 6P called DOZE. This feature claims to lessen the battery usage in times when you don't use the phone (when your phone just rests on your bedside table while you sleep or on your bag). It works through the use of some sensors to perceive if the phone is not being used. What happens is the background refreshes becomes slower and less often for the phone to sip fewer battery.

So these are my favorite features in Huawei's new flagship the Nexus 6P.

The main advantage of the Nexus 6P is it gives you more power and more capabilities in your fingertips. I am glad that the Nexus lineup can be able to pull off such an amazing piece of technology.

The Huawei nexus 6P really lived up to its name where P stands for "Premium" and proves how smartphones can be smarter.
