Skin Care Routine

I've tried a ton of products just to cure my skin problems and here are the products that worked for me in the long run. These are the products that greatly cured the acne on my face and the dryness of my skin.

The skin is about 16 percent of a person's body weight and considered as the largest organ of a human body. It also serve as our body's protection hence making it more susceptible to bacteria given the fact that it serves as a home for 1,000 species of bacteria!

Before, I wasn't really that conscious of how my skin would look. But as I grow up, I became more aware of what is happening to my body especially my acne which stayed with me for years. It's part of being a teenager that you became more affected by oily skin and dirt. I can say I've tried and tested numerous products hoping it would cure my skin. And finally, here are the products that I find suitable for my skin and helped me to remove my pimples.

A quick disclaimer: we all have different skin types and these are the products that worked great for my skin. Moreover, you don't get the results immediately after 2 or 3 uses. You must use the following products for quite a long time for you to notice the results.

For my facial soap, I use the Acne Lemon Soap by Skin Essence by Ellie. I got this product from a Facebook shop Skin Essence La Union. It only costs Php 100 which is a total bargain because it really heals your pimple scars and reduces future breakouts.

As you can see on the name of the product, it contains Lemon which has some acne-fighting qualities, reduces oil and acne scars on your face (for more information about how lemon can help get rid of acne, click here). When using this soap, you can feel a tingling sensation on the parts of your face which has pimples. It may be a downside for other people but I personally think that that tingling sensation is the proof that the product works. In addition, this soap can also whiten your skin.

I use this in the morning and before I sleep at night.

I use Eskinol Pimple Fighting as a Cleanser and Toner. I use it after I wash my face. When using this, I can clearly see the dirt left on my face and it definitely cleanses my face and neck which to me is so refreshing. I use a cotton ball to apply it gently on my face in an upward motion. That way, the product cleans deeply into my skin.

What I don't like much about this is that it has a very strong smell hence I don't really like putting it near my nostrils because it felt like the smell is creeping inside my nose (you know what I mean). But overall, the Eskinol is a  very effective product for my skin. I forgot how much this product is but I got it from a drugstore in our town.

Moisturizing my face is my faaaaavorite part of my skin care routine. I feel like whenever I finish cleansing, the natural oils that should've stayed in my skin were absorbed by the cleanser. I use Celeteque Hydration as a facial moisturizer. And gurl, I can really feel my skin moisturized and refreshed. Before, my skin is peeling off which I hate so much because people will always notice it. After using this product, my face feel more pampered (does that make sense?).

What I like about the Celeteque Hydration is that it is fragrance-free and water-based. I personally do not like many oily products because my face is already oily and I don't want to put more oil on my face. So I'm so glad I knew about this product. I ordered it from Lazada for only Php 230 for 100 ml. It is totally worth more than the price. I use this after I cleanse my face and serve as a primer before I put on makeup.

The sparseness of my eyebrows is undeniably noticeable. I became so conscious about my eyebrows when noticed that mine were not as full as other people's eyebrows. My friend told me about the Castor Oil that it could make your brows fuller. Probably most of you already know the prime use of castor oil (as a laxative), I didn't know it at first. So just imagine the lady's face beside me when I told her I'm buying a bottle of castor oil.

Anyways, I got my castor oil from a local drugstore in our town for only P30. I bought it August last year and it's still half full until now. Plus, it is Strawberry flavor and has a pretty decent scent. MY mom bought a castor oil and she didn't like the smell of it (like a burnt crayon). I can see small changes in my eyebrows. The key is to be patient. I apply this using a spooly I got from Landmark and use it before I go to sleep.

Body lotion. This Victoria's Secret Classic Endless Love is my go-to body lotion. It was given as a gift to my mom and she gave it to me. At first, I never thought of liking this lotion until I use it a couple of times. And just like any lotion, it does keep your skin from dryness but I have to give recognition to its smell.The smell, to me, is so good. It keeps me from using a cologne.

I use this before I go to school or I apply it to my feet before I go to sleep (plus putting socks on after).

Okay. I've seen other forms of lip balms which I think is the type that you would totally use in your night routine. But I don't have time for that. I use this Baby Lips from Maybelline. I'm not too picky when it comes about choosing lip balms as long as it moisturizes my skin. It costs Php99 and I got it from Watsons. I love the strawberry-ish scent of this and makes my lips pinkish. My lips are mostly chapped during the day and pale too which makes my classmates wonder if I'm sick (I'm not).

I use this in school and if I feel a little fancy then I use this also at night before I go to bed.


And here are the products that I use for my skin and I can definitely say I notice a lot of changes in my skin lately. Just remember that the key is to be consistent in your routine. Don't skip nights/days when using the product (as long as you are advised to) then you will see the changes or results if the product really works for you.

As the beauty gurus say that finding the right product is a trial and error. I'm still in the stage of experimenting and avoiding too much chemicals and products on my skin especially that I'm still a teenager.
